Getting Started

Because of the Internet, many people say that it is easier to get started as an entrepreneur than it has ever before. I see that as being very true. Because it takes so much less money to get started, you only need an idea, you don’t need to have a physical location, it’s simple to connect with those who want your product or service,

So with all of these factors being the case why do we still make it difficult? Why do we struggle to get things started? I believe that it is because of a number of factors. Dedication is one of those. Many of us are just not dedicated to the cause. We want things to be easy. We don’t want to have to work for it. But the truth of the matter is, that we still have to work for it. The work may be a bit different, but we still have to work. Also, the harder we work, the more things take shape.

There are other factors that can keep us from doing the work that we need to do. Competition, that is not a bad word. Actually competition is a good thing, it shows that there is a market for your product or service. The problem arises because we see so much competition on the Internet, we think the market is flooded and we wouldn’t be able to compete. That may be true, in which case, we try something else. On the other side, it may only be a perception that we hold and if we were to put our product out there, we may corner the market because it is better. Only research, experimentation and marketing will be able to answer those questions.

Procrastination keeps us from moving to the next step. This will effect us whether or not we are online or even in business. The cure for procrastination is to not look for perfection but rather look for excellence. It won’t be perfect but once you have it completed to the best of your abilities at the time, move on. It doesn’t have to be perfect, only very good.

Focus keeps us from our goals because we don’t see it or want it bad enough. We should be focused on our goals constantly and thinking of it at all times. One thing that can help with this is meditation.

While using meditation to clear the mind can be helpful, you can also use it to focus on one idea. Meditate, or think only on your goal, picture it and walk through it. This will be able to help build your desire and work through issues that may arise. You can either go into meditation with the plan of looking at the big picture or you can go into it with one question or problem in mind. Either way, you will find your answers.
